Member Battle Round 3: Luna vs Min (Vocals)

Round 3 in our battle between the two groups has us comparing the voice of f(x), Luna, against the outgoing and cheerful Min.

KpopEncarta:               So now we have Min vs Luna.

Thekoreanjjang:         Battle of the vocals then.  Another fun match-up to dissect.

KpopEncarta:               They might not have set roles like other groups, but Min’s definitely my pick for best vocal in miss A.

Thekoreanjjang:         Yup she has the best vocals and is one of the stronger dancers in miss A.  The time she spent in the U.S. definitely helped with her English proficiency.

KpopEncarta:               For sure.

Thekoreanjjang:         Its always entertaining to see her Korean-American mannerisms clash with Korea’s more conservative culture.

KpopEncarta:               Haha that’s true with all the korean americans: Sica, Fany, Nicole, etc.  But back to the topic, while Min has a good voice, Luna’s no slouch either.  And she’s been in 2 musicals too: Legally Blonde and Coyote Ugly

Thekoreanjjang:         Oh really.  I didn’t know that.  So she was in that with Sica?

KpopEncarta:               No, she played Elle Wood’s role way after Sica left.

Thekoreanjjang:         Regardless yeah she has some pretty solid vocals in f(x).

KpopEncarta:               In terms of variety, I think Min’s better.  Luna’s too passive in that sense, but Min really goes for it.  Min was main cast in 100 out of a 100 because she was entertaining.  Compare that to Luna in her episode of Running Man or in F(x) Koala where she kinda goes with the flow.

Thekoreanjjang:         She’s also raised her profile through her kkab dance.

KpopEncarta:                That she did.

Thekoreanjjang:         She’d make for a good dance off with Jo Kwon.  Looks like Hyosung approves of her interpretation of shy boy.

KpopEncarta:               lol

KpopEncarta:               Min is also a good regular dancer too.

Thekoreanjjang:         Yeah I found it to be a higher level than Luna at least.  Luna has a good voice with a bright and slightly introverted personality, but Min handles herself better in both variety and performance.  All things considered, I’d give this round to Min.  Although they never designated a leader, Min seems most likely to fill that role in  miss A.  I still have f(x) with a 2:1 edge at this point.

KpopEncarta:               Yeah i’d say Min wins this round as well.  Vocals I gotta give to Luna, but Min edges her out in the other categories.

Thekoreanjjang:         Agreed lets move on.

Come on… Min isn’t the best vocalist in miss A. That should be Suzy or Fei.

At the time this was written, Min was unquestionably their best vocalist. Since then, Suzy and Fei have improved to the point where it’s fairly murky now.

luna : have 2 well balanced developed register and a very well developed register (head voice)
able to hit A5 in mixed register
most developed head voice registerr amongst kpop female vocal idol! (consistently hit Bb5 in full head voice)
supported her voice enough up to D5 ( but occasionally she can hit Eb5 with no strain)

Min: no register considered developed, inconsistent, nassal placement, strains a loooooot -_-

so, there are 148 stupid people who said that eunjung is better than luna -_-
