Member Battle Round 1: Taeyeon vs Eunjung (Leaders)

KpopEncarta:           LOL okay so round 1: the leaders

Thekoreanjjang:     We have a great first matchup pitting snsd’s kid leader Taeyeon against t-ara’s charismatic former leader Eunjung. Tae’s vocals are clearly a notch above the standard idol level.  Her OSTs have easily become personal favorites of mine.  Like this one:

KpopEncarta:           Agreed

Thekoreanjjang:     I honestly love Tae’s endearing dorky aegyo and personality.  However, Eunjung has great contributions as one of the main dancers and rappers in t-ara.  Her bright aegyo also flows more naturally than Tae’s and really defines her idol persona.

KpopEncarta:           Eunjung is prob the best female rapper, best sounding, heads above the rest and a decent singer .  I like Tae’s maturity though.

Thekoreanjjang:     In my opinion, Eunjung has become one of the few legitimate actor-idol figures in the kpop world. She has helped bring the term more credibility rather than ridicule among idols. She is the original triple threat (sing-dance-acting) idol force in t-ara and is also helping to groom the next wave in Jiyeon.

KpopEncarta:           Tae’s arguably the best voice in the industry, and the vocal point for their best songs.  She gives them more rep as actually having talent and not just idols.

Thekoreanjjang:      Exhibit A!  They both did a great job as leaders.  I’d say Eunjung has better variety sense.  She has more marketable variety skills to offer  such as her taekwondo, aegyo (WGM), and sexy dance.  Lets not forget her memorable TOP rap as well.

KpopEncarta:            Exhibit B.  Top rap was pretty good though.

Thekoreanjjang:     sleepy Eunjung, jealous Eunjung, gullible Eunjung…

Thekoreanjjang:     She’s also t-ara’s resident fashion terrorista. Eunjung’s jean jacket top-jean pants bottom was an abomination, rofl nuff’ said.  Oh man, although I love both and its close, I gotta hand it to Eunjung.  Like a 5.0 vs a 4.8 sort of deal.  Eunjung is my ideal for idol perfection.  I believe her rap, dance, and aegyo match her well against Tae’s superior voice and other intangibles.  If anyone wants to throw down to draw blood over this I’m game.

KpopEncarta:           Personality-wise, I’d take tae, but Eunjung is more entertaining

KpopEncarta:           I’ll give Eunjung the edge, however slight.
